I’ve just published the 2nd vlog entry on how I’m producing this series. Number one was about my motivations, the second one is talking about how I write my scripts, what structure I’m following, and script writing software. Now I want to focus on getting the production going for Phungus & Mowld episode 2, “Schröder’s Cat”, and I’ve started to record narration.
So, Who Is This Schröder Anyway?
Schröder is one new character, possibly even with a returning role – that’s all I can say without spoiling the story. He and his companion Otto von Katz will play an important role in this episode, in which you will also learn a little more about the Framistan Drive, its quirks and history, and the fate of the ship “Astral Endeavor” (which was mentioned in passing by Phungus in the pilot episode).
For these characters I get to narrate a thick German accent (not the thinner one I usually have). So it’ll be an intended German accent…
Although I have already started recording narration for episode 2, when completing the second vlog talking about script structure I felt I need to review my character arc for episode 2 – I just have a gut feeling something is missing, or it is too simplistic. Somehow I packed so many locations and characters in episode 1, while episode 2 happens basically in one place with only five characters. I’m a little worried this might feel too confined or even monotonous.
More Film Festivals
WRPN.TV has just informed me, that “Dead Angle” the Phungus & Mowld pilot was chosen for the official selection to compete for best Webisode Pilot or Episode at their competition. The results should be announced early February – I’m keeping my fingers crossed for that one.
There And Back Again
Yeah, I had to borrow this line, because I just rewatched LOTR. My personal “there and back again” was a Keto diet I did last year, which I completed losing 16 kg just before COVID-19 hit (“there”), and which I regained shortly afterwards (“back again”), because I just didn’t go out of the house for close to 1 year (except for some shopping). So a late new years resolution is that I want to drop those 16kg once and for all this year – I’m not getting any younger and I really need to get in shape. Another new year’s resolution is that I want to try to churn out 4 episodes this year. It’s a tough one, but damn, I want to complete season one in the next 2–3 years. Over and out.
